Which high-quality door and window seals should I choose for winter?
With winter approaching, to keep homes warm, windproof, and moisture-proof, you need high-quality door and window seals to seal windows. So, what kind of seals can help protect against wind and cold while also keeping homes warm?
For door and window seals, first and foremost, the seals must provide excellent sealing. This requires more than just the right size; good elasticity is also essential. Secondly, the material must be suitable. High-performance seals with UV and aging resistance ensure a long service life. Such as EPDM foam seals and vinyl-clad foam seals. Finally, door and window seals must be easy to install. Based on these points, we'll briefly introduce two commonly used seals.
1) D/P/E/I Type Seals. These seals come in four different shapes to suit different door and window gaps. They are made of EPDM foam material with an adhesive backing. The foam material is soft and resilient, while the adhesive backing has strong adhesion, allowing them to adhere securely to the gaps.
The shapes and sizes are as follows:
D-type (9*8mm, 10*12mm, 12*14mm) are suitable for gaps of 3.5-5.5mm.
P-type (9*5.5mm) is suitable for gaps of 2.5-3.5mm.
E-type (9*4.0mm) is suitable for gaps of 2.5-3.5mm.
I-type (9*2.0mm) is suitable for gaps of 1.0-2.0mm.
2) Vinyl clad foam series sealing strips: This type of sealing strip is not only environmentally friendly but also has excellent resilience. It consists of a PU foam outer layer and an adhesive tape on the bottom. The material is environmentally friendly and odorless. It is more expensive than D/P/E/I-type sealing strips and is more commonly used for sealing high-end doors and windows.
