Carriage door seal strip is a critical component for ensuring vehicle sealing, comfort, safety, and durability. They are primarily used to isolate external noise, rain, dust, and airflow, and also provide cushioning and shock absorption. EPDM rubber due to its superior ozone resistance, weather resistance, and high and low-temperature resistance, has become the main material for most vehicle body and door frame seals, and hatch seals.

Performance requirements for vehicle body and door frame seals include:
1) Water sealing: Able to withstand high-pressure water jet washing without leakage.
2) Air sealing: Effectively reduces wind noise during driving and prevents airflow intrusion.
3) Dust sealing: Blocks road dust.
Durability and environmental resistance:
1) Weathering resistance: Does not crack, deform, or harden under long-term exposure to sunlight, rain, and ozone.
2) High and low-temperature resistance: Does not become brittle in extreme cold in northern regions, and does not permanently deform or become sticky in the scorching heat of southern regions or near the engine compartment.
3) Compression set resistance: Able to recover its original shape after long-term compression, maintaining sealing force. This is a key indicator.
