EPDM Locking Rubber Gasket

Locking rubber sealing strips (commonly known as locking rubber gaskets / H-shaped locking gasket) are H-shaped cross-section rubber/elastomer sealing components that secure glass and profile grooves through three "openings," at same time providing glass fixing, sealing, and cushioning.  They are widely used in doors and windows, cabinets, vehicle windshields, and other applications, suitable for 2-12mm glass thickness, primarily made of EPDM material.

Structure:

H-shaped integrated extrusion molding, with the middle groove clamping the glass and the side wings embedded in the profile grooves, forming a triple seal and positioning. Some versions include flocking to reduce friction.

Core functions: Waterproof and dust proof, sound and heat insulation, shock absorption and cushioning, glass anti-loosening, auxiliary positioning, no additional adhesive required for installation, and secure clamping.

Applications

Construction field: Aluminum alloy/plastic steel doors and windows, curtain walls, sunrooms, used to fix hollow/tempered glass, improving energy efficiency and sound insulation.

Industrial field: Electrical cabinets, distribution boxes, equipment windows, combining sealing and glass fixing, adaptable to cabinet panel thickness.

Vehicle field: Excavator/loader windshields, car side windows, resistant to vibration and high/low temperatures, preventing glass loosening.

Home furnishing field: Glass cabinet doors, display cases, aesthetically pleasing and easy to install.

How to Install locking rubber gasket?

Installation Steps as below,

Clean the groove: Remove dust, oil, and burrs, ensuring it is dry and free of foreign objects.

Cutting Length: The cutting length should be 20-30mm longer than the assembly length to avoid excessive stretching.

Snap-fit Installation: First, insert the middle groove onto the glass edge, then use a roller to press the side wings into the profile grooves.  At corners, the pieces should be mitered at a 45° angle, joined, and secured with adhesive.

Inspection and Adjustment: Ensure the glass is not loose and the sealing surfaces are evenly fitted.

Key Selection Parameters:

Glass Thickness: The width of the middle groove must match the glass thickness to avoid jamming or looseness.

Environmental Conditions: Use EPDM for outdoor applications, silicone for high-temperature environments, and PVC for cost-effective indoor applications.
