Performance of NBR Rubber Seal Strips
1. Excellent Oil Resistance
This is the key characteristic of NBR. It has excellent resistance to mineral oils, animal and vegetable oils, and aliphatic hydrocarbons, and is not prone to swelling, hardening, or cracking.
2. Good Physical and Mechanical Properties
NBR material has high tear strength and wear resistance. The hardness is usually between 60 to 85shore A, and it can recover its original shape after compression at a certain temperature and time. This is a key indicator for measuring the durability of seals. NBR performs well at reasonable operating temperatures.
3. Aging Resistance
NBR has general ozone resistance and is prone to cracking in environments with high ozone concentrations. If excellent weather resistance is required, usually EPDM is the best chosen. In natural environments such as sunlight and rain, the performance will slowly decline over time, so it is not suitable for long-term outdoor exposure.
4. Other Properties
Airtightness: The dense structure gives it good gas sealing capabilities.
Chemical Resistance: It has a certain resistance to acids, alkalis, and salt solutions, but is not resistant to strong oxidizing agents (such as concentrated nitric acid, concentrated sulfuric acid) and polar solvents (such as ketones, esters).

Main Uses of NBR Solid Extruded Strips
Due to its excellent oil resistance, NBR solid extruded strips are ubiquitous in applications requiring the sealing of oils and greases, and are indispensable basic components in the industrial field.
Applications
| Application Field | Specific Uses |
| Automotive Industrial | crankshaft oil seals, valve oil seals, oil filter seals. Fuel system: fuel pump seals, fuel tank cap seals, fuel line connector seals |
| Transmission system | gearbox oil seals, differential oil seals. Others: various hydraulic and pneumatic pipeline gaskets and sealing strips. |
| Petrochemical Industrial | Seals for pipes, valves, and pumps transporting oils and chemical fluids. Mechanical Manufacturing: Seals in hydraulic equipment and pneumatic components, such as seals for hydraulic cylinder pistons and piston rods. |
| Home Appliance Industrial | Shaft seals for washing machines, door seals for dishwashers, and seals for refrigerator compressors. |
| Aerospace Industrial | Some sealing components in aircraft fuel systems and hydraulic systems (requing extremely high temperature and oil resistance). |
